Gemma has more than one string for her bow and earns her money in the UK from doing wedding photography. Gemma Ashford's Independent Animal Sanctuary

Please Save Gemma's Work With The Street Dogs

Gemma is being forced out of her headquarters in Sangklaburi, Thailand, due to the land on which she has built her sanctuary being reclaimed for redevelopment by the so called 'caring organisation', that originally promoted her work with the animals.

It means, we are more than ever, urgently in need of funds, to, not only feed and treat our growing family of dogs, but also to re-home them. Feed costs are now into hundreds of pounds and last year alone Gemma spent nearly £5000 of her own money looking after the animals in her charge - this is not to mention, the thousands of pounds she originally sunk into building her base, that Baan Unrak now want to reclaim.

We understand that Baan Unrak intend only to provide direct veterinary support for 'owned pets'. Without Gemma, this leaves the street dogs in Sangklaburi unprotected and unchampioned against the ravages of random cruelty and deliberate persecution.

Every donation will be acknowledged by Gemma Ashford with a personal note about the dog most likely to benefit from your kindness.

New European Base

Gemma is in Italy looking at a small farm houses in Abruzzo, where, as initial point of arrival in Europe, animals can be re-homed. We will be looking for donations and volunteers to help working with the dogs in this new base and also with transportation to the UK.
